TORONTO, ON, January 24, 2008The ‘Weasels’ are once again throwing their annual party ‘Weaselpalooza 9’ to benefit The Canadian Music Therapy Trust Fund [CMTTF] at the Steam Whistle Brewing Company 255 Bremner Blvd in Toronto on February 1, 2008.

Since its inception, Weaselpalooza has raised over $193, 000 for the CMTTF and its beneficiaries. It has since become a forum for industry types, fans, musicians, national retailers and media to raise both money and awareness for music therapy in Canada. Featuring Tyler Westerlund [White Cowbell Okalahoma], DJ Nasty Nav [Play De Record, etc], local star DJ Ted Dancin’, a Guitar Hero III Tournament AND silent auction; this year’s event stands to be the best one yet!

This year we also honour our recently passed friend Carl Herman. As the husband of Fran Herman, one of Canada’s first music therapists, Carl was an early champion of music therapy and a co-founder of the trust fund. Together, Fran and Carl were our dynamic duo.

The Weasel’s thank Astral, Bodog, Entertainment One, Feldman, Globe Media / CHUM radio, inDiscover.net, Mediabase, MSN Music Store, NEWCAP Broadcasting, Rogers Broadcasting, SONY BMG, Sympatico / MSN, Sympatico / MSN Music Store, Universal, Warner and Xbox for the support of the CMTTF and Weaselpalooza.

Since 1996, the Canadian Music Therapy Trust Fund has distributed over 3 million dollars to over 350 projects, from coast to coast. These projects range from hospices for terminally ill people with cancer or HIV/AIDS, to centres for the aged, to schools for children who are autistic, physically, or mentally challenged.

Showcase your talent at Guitar Hero III or just come cheer on those who do!
